| | Our History | In 1975 Don and Donna Anselmo opened the doors to Headquarters Hairstylists (known now as HQ Salon and Spa) in Portage, Michigan. The success of their business is due to a strong belief in excellent service, with an emphasis on education, and a dedicated staff.
In 2008, success and continued growth has helped reinforce the vision of what people want in a Salon/Spa experience. This continued growth inspired an expansion and complete renovation of our now 3,200 sq. ft. salon and spa.
Today, Don and Donna’s daughter, Angie Schirripa and her friend Melissa Brockelbank own and run the company. Angie and Melissa share a passion for pampering their guests in and atmosphere of friendly comfort, refinement and renewal. Guest satisfaction has been their ultimate reward and the HQ Team will go to any lengths to achieve it. Inspiration comes from many places, with over 20 years of experience in the salon and spa industry, Angie and Melissa share their passion for learning and excellence with a talented group of professionals. The staff is kept up to date with the latest techniques in hairstyling, color, massage therapy, nail care and skin care to meet each guest's personalized needs.

| | | | | The Level System | Our experienced staff is committed to nothing short of excellence. Every Service Provider & Support Staff at HQ Salon and Spa work on a Level System. The level system accomplishes two main goals. The first is to provide a career path of growth and achievement for our team. The second is to provide serveral options for your various needs. Guests may choose the level that best fits their needs and their budget. The designers level of competency or creativity is not necessarily related to the years of experience he or she has. This is a common misconception. The training our team receives is aggressive, consistent, innovative and in-depth. It starts from the moment they are hired and continues through their entire career with us. At HQ Salon and Spa, our service providers achieve promotions based on several factors. These factors include guest satisfaction, guest retention, performance, and education. Once a service provider reaches a certain level, they become an Educator and begin working with an Associate. | Arrival Time In order to fully enjoy your services, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
Cancellations Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require a minimum of a 24 hour notice to avoid a cancellation fee. Reservations Guests wishing to reserve multiple services will be asked to secure their visit with a credit card. Spa Day Packages/Parties Please be prepared to provide a credit card to secure your party or spa day reservation. A 72 hour cancellation notice is required for all parties and packages to avoid a 50% service charge.
Spa Tranquility To ensure the personal relaxation of each and every one of our guests, we request that cell phones be turned off, and spa voices be used when entering the spa
Children We love your children, but our guests visit the spa to relax and rejuvenate themselves. We ask that your children are not brought to the spa unless they have a scheduled appointment.
Gift Cards Gift cards are available in any dollar amount and can be used for individual services, treatment series, corporate gifts, products and gift baskets. Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemable for cash or refund. HQ Salon and Spa does not replace lost gift cards. HQ Salon and Spa gift cards never expire! | | | Back to Top | |
